The current position of Democrats is that of planning on how they will shape their lives and ideas in the new Trump age. Some are trying to fight for a change in the liberal course to fit in better to the Republican standard. The reason for this argument is hope that the Democrats will still maintain some ground in the political years to come. Their hope is to be able to bring about this change, through better influencing the people and states to sway Democratically in the future, and by just rolling with the Republicans decisions.

I think that a key part of the Trump age was the voting of citizen in more rural areas as it tends to have a higher majority of people in the voting population in that area who vote. I think that it most likely will not become the democrats changing their ideals but a fact of manipulating them to appear to rural white voters.

The goal for Democrats is to work in unison with Republicans to try and better the state of the country. By doing this they could appeal to more moderate voters and voters in crucial swing states. Democrats know that they have enough support since they won the majority vote, they simply have to work out a way to flip moderate Republican voters and independent Republican voters whom feel abandoned by the party.

Currently the Democratic Party is reevaluating their position and tactics in order to win over more voters. Yet, the party is divided as to if rural America is worth the effort, money, and time for the amount of votes they might gain. The two main positions seem to be that the party doesn’t need to change in order to win elections and the other is that the party needs to better adapt to Trump’s America by becoming less polarized towards the left. They would probably start this change by focusing on what matters most to a majority of Americans rather than those who are already likely to vote Democrat by rebuilding trust with those who identify as independent,if they think that a more Republican path will help them win more elections.

They democratics running for office they still have to reach our minorities. That would win votes, they also need to focus on thurs parties and keep them in mind. They also need to consider people in the middle that are independent, the people who aren't democratic nor republican .

That is a strong point, also, if people are in fact able to be swayed to the liberal side of things, we can hope it will incite the non-voting democrats to begin voting once more.

The Democratic Party is currently at an identity based crossroads. They are being forced to reevaluate who they are trying to reach out to for votes, seeing how their current plan did not work out so well in the last election. The party needs to decide whether it is time and cost effective to attempt to reach out to rural whites or continue to wait it out and tailor their approach to minorities. In order to avoid another general election like this one, democrats could take a more moderate approach to targeted voters--rather than only targeting minorities--and try to gain some ground in the house and senate in the midterm election.

I think that part of the reason why the election did not go so well also was that they were not able to encourage those democratic voter to go to the polls and vote as they did with Obama;s campaign. I think this will also become a major strategy that the party considers if they plan on winning more elections whether or not they attempt to gain rural whites' votes.

They need to keep in mind of the minorities, but mostly focus on majority. They need to worry about all of it, instead of just 15% of the population.

The campaign did indeed focus very heavily on the minorities, which on paper seems like a good idea but it was as if they neglected any other aspect of voting success. Switching targets, or expanding them, would be a good idea.

The democratics are replanning their deografics and trying to reach out more then just minorities. They need to spend more time reaching out to more voters rather than democratics. They need to know weather or not they should try to put money into rural areas, that is dominated by white people. If they put money into rural America thry have a chance at winning some points.

Democrats became complacent in rural areas and expected them to win in places that Obama did in his two elections. They underestimated the importance of White working-class American and not only did they lose the Presidency because of it, they failed to gain a majority of the seats in congress.

Also while they are on the election trail they also need to not be more in the middle ground to get all the people who are in the middle also. Because if they go full democrat in the rural areas they won't win

The democrats currently have a lot of support considering they won the popular vote. The issue is that they don't have support in the right areas. If they don't start to appeal to people outside of urban America they will continue to lose because they need more variety to win the electoral college.

The current state of the Democratic Party is trying to expand outwards. Not to reach out to more people and convince them to vote Democrat, but to appeal to different kinds of people; mostly rural white voters who were all but abandoned in the recent election. At this moment, Democrats mostly exist as minorities in Urban areas. The task that the party now faces is reclaiming the White, working-class, rural voters to try and flip states in their favor. The Democratic Party cannot continue to exist if it does not attempt to obtain the vote of this demographic.

What they need to do is to win back the states that they lost this past election like Pennsylvania and Florida and start moving inward. Also they need to rally there people to vote like the Republicans did this past electon and get more of their voters out voting

Right now the Democrats are reevaluating what they did in the last election and trying to decide if they need to change in order to be able to win over more voters for the next election. Theit trying to decide if it's worth appealing to rural areas which is a main reason they lost in the election. Right now they have control over the urban areas and in minority groups but if they want to win the next election they'll have to at least gain some support from the people in rural areas

The only way that the democrats will gain support from rural America is be changing some of their ideas to appeal to those people. The working-class American's won't just flip sides overnight.

As shown in the last election the democratic party has lost some of its support. It seems as though in the 2016 election the democrats were not able to get as many of the minority votes that they were counting on. There current issue is whether or not they should try to win back rural America that Trump was able to control in the election. If this is what the democrats decide to do to regain control, they will have to appeal to different kinds of people instead of just banking on getting all the minority groups to vote for them.
