In my opinion it isn't fully Facebooks responsibility but they definitely play a role. Whether they like it or not many people use

I believe that the goverment shouldn't censor Facebook, but they have to censor certain things in there. The lies in other words.

The responsibility belongs more to the people who use Facebook and read the articles on it. They should be able to decipher which articles are true and which are fake. It shouldn't be Facebook's responsibility since the influence on people is not enough to drastically skew the election results, and it is not in their business model to censor what people see and believe.

I don't believe that facebook is a responsiblity. It does change the way some people think, so it may influence the elections. It may change which canidate some one choses. They shouldn't try to regulate it much, it free speech we have a right to voice our opinions.

I don't think the government should regulate speech either. I think that Facebook should at least put an effort into weeding out complete lies because they could harm society.

I don't think the outcome of the election was changed by Facebook either. Though I do think it may have swayed some individual voters. I think that although Facebook does play a role in how people get their news it should be up to the people to check the sources themselves but, it would be helpful if they could weed out fake articles like they weed out spam. But the reality of the situation is that people will believe what they want to believe even if they know it is fake and as hard as Facebook may try they could not realistically remove all fake articles before they are viewed or shared with others.

I do believe that Facebook does play a in our lives. It chages our view points in life. Our opinion will change by hearing others opinions or reading others' articles.

So I don't think that the government should be involved in regulating what appears on Facebook since free speech applies here. People should obviously not get all of their information solely from Facebook and should look towards more reliable sources.

People should definitely try to source their news on a more reliable site than facebook. Also, the government should not try to wield their power within the situation.

I definatley agree with the fact that people need to check their sources and see if it reliable or not. i also agree with that Facebook could do its part to get rid of the false articles but it is not their responsibility, and they shouldn't be accountable for peoples stupidity.

Facebook only influences people's newsfeed, but does not influence what they see since is up to the user. Facebook cannot be held accountable for the publishing of fake news since it is a public and open social media platform. The government shouldn't get involved since the internet is a public so it is protected under the 1st Amendment's free speech clause. Facebook cannot really remove all of the fake articles because that would be too much work.

Facebook definitely has an impact on more than just people's "newsfeed." The article shows data that the content of the post affected the user and their actions.

facebook is a big influence on many people including in times of mass importance, however just because something is to much work does not mean it can not be done. I disagree with that the government shouldn't get involved because it is a topic of much importance and should be treated with such.

Facebook, according to the presented data, certainly plays a role in influencing voters. It is not really up to the website to do anything about that because it is up to the user to determine what they want to believe and how much to research the information they see. Also, it would be unrealistic to ask facebook to try to monitor everything that is posted. The government should not get involved because there are no real grounds for them to get involved. There is not obsecenity or "clear and present danger" to the public and the first amendment protects the freedom of the press.

Facebook can be held somewhat responsible due to the fact not everything is entirely true and can cause harm to others from falsely advertising and promoting lies.on the other hand people need to be more aware of what they are reading and that it is on Facebook and not a reliable source, they are ignorant (aka) stupid.
